Throughout the night, the Saints had trouble moving the ball and sustaining drives.
After starting 2-0, New Orleans has lost five straight. For various reasons, the two losses that have occurred recently have been embarrassing. In a 51-27 defeat last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers completely dominated the defense. In the offseason of 2023, the Saints traded away a coach and franchise icon to Denver, resulting in a loss on Thursday.
According to NFL researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno, the Saints have not lost consecutive home games by 20 or more points since 2001. Throughout the entire 15-year Payton era, they lost two home games by a score of 20 or more.
All of this can't go over well with the Saints' ownership, who must be getting impatient with Dennis Allen, the head coach. After Thursday night, a lot of people will talk about his future and whether or not he will be able to get through another embarrassing home loss.
On Thursday night, the Saints struggle once more. The game was ugly, and one baffling decision had fans searching for the remote. The Saints called a timeout with four seconds remaining in the first half. After that, they knelt to stop the clock for the remaining time.
There wasn't much of a show by either team. At the very least, the Broncos were good enough to win. Payton's coaching has paid off as they are 4-3 this season.

Denver continues to win games as Payton makes the most of his roster. That is well-known to Saints fans.
The Saints fans who remained didn't make a lot of noise after Brees' halftime ceremony. The remainder of the game and the remainder of the season offer little reason to be excited about.
The Saints' slide continues The Saints appeared to be doing well to begin the season. They had two high-scoring blowout wins to go 2-0. It turned out that their first two opponents, the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, have weak defenses.
The Saints have lost five straight since then. Accidents have been a major factor, but not the only one. It's difficult to attribute the defensive effort in the last two games to injuries, the majority of which have occurred on the offensive side.
In the second half, other than running the ball, the Broncos didn't have to do much. There were a lot of holes for the running backs. The Saints didn't look good and Allen certainly didn't look good after getting hammered on the ground for a second week in a row.
Both offensive and defensively, the Saints are a mess. Nobody will be happy to see their former coach come to New Orleans and win easily.
